In a recent appearance on The Big Money Show, Fox News contributor Liz Peek argued that despite ongoing debates over Trump’s foreign policy approach, his administration has delivered a concrete strategic win: a broad realignment of Middle East allies that makes America meaningfully safer.
Peek pushed back on the notion that “America First” means going it alone. She argued the opposite is true — that building the right alliances is the ultimate expression of putting American security first. “I do think that’s the ultimate goal here,” she said, pointing to a shift in regional dynamics that extends well beyond the Abraham Accords’ most visible partners. “It isn’t just Israel, it isn’t just Israel and UAE,” she noted. “It’s all the Gulf states now.”
Peek argued that the Gulf states already understood Iran was an existential threat — not just to Israel but to themselves. “Look what they’ve done, what Iran has done to the UAE and to the Saudis and some of these other countries. They’ve been merciless,” she said. This shared understanding, she contended, has created the conditions for a durable regional realignment. She also credited Trump’s energy diplomacy, noting that his relationship with Saudi Arabia gave the U.S. far greater leverage over oil flows than the Biden administration had managed to achieve.
Peek concluded that the new coalition of Middle East allies represents a genuine “America First” outcome — one that improves the country’s strategic position across energy, security, and a host of other issues.
