Note To Woke Idiot Judges: Some People are Evil and Need to be Locked Up

Rebecca Haro is handcuffed and led out by a San Bernardino Sheriff’s deputy after her arrest at her home on Aug. 22, 2025. San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department

We have all become inured to the ever-spinning revolving door of justice, especially if you live in New York or other big Democrat-run cities. In these crime-invested towns, the bad guys reign supreme, woke district attorneys like Alvin Bragg refuse to prosecute criminals and even woker judges routinely let people accused of (and guilty of) heinous deeds get off with a slap on the wrist.

But every now and then you run across a story that makes you literally sick to your stomach, and howling for justice – not of the “social justice” kind so cherished by the Joe-Biden – Black Lives Matter crew that manufactures grievances to keep the dollars flowing to pet leftist causes, but the real kind. The eye for an eye kind.

Such a story appeared in this morning’s NY Post. According to Post reporting, Jake Haro, of Cabazon California, is accused of torturing and murdering his young son Emmanuel, and then falsely reporting to authorities that the kid had been kidnapped on August 14.

That’s enough to make you gag, but the truly terrible part of the story is that Haro had already been convicted of beating his 10-week old daughter so badly that she will apparently be bedridden for the rest of her life. He had faced up to 6 years in prison for that heinous act, but in 2023 a judge let him off with probation, a work-release program and counseling.

In other words, the judge let him go so that Haro could attack his kids again, and now one is dead. How could this happen? How could this monster, already found guilty of maiming an infant girl, not be sent to prison?

At the time, Judge Dwight W. Moore suspended the sentence, saying it would serve as “a very large hammer over the defendant’s head” that would presumably keep him from further wrongdoing. What an idiot.

And, as a local news station reported, that wasn’t Haro’s only crime. “According to new court documents obtained by News Channel 3, Jake Haro was caught with a handgun and ammunition in June 2024 while already on felony probation for a prior child cruelty conviction. He pled not guilty that August.” And was still free.

You can thank Governor Newsom and all the leftist law enforcement establishment of California where, as in NY, the power brokers have been dedicated to let criminals run free, the citizens be damned. The Post reports that “Nearly two-thirds of felons don’t see a day in prison”, a figure which has risen during Newsom’s time in office. Newsom famously has been working to close prisons and rehabilitate criminals, leading to policies that prevents perps from serving time.

California, like New York, passed laws that allowed shoplifters and other low-level offenders to get off scot-free; because crime of course exploded, the state has now reversed some of those rules.

Riverside County District Attorney Mike Hestrin was furious that Haro was not behind bars, saying, “My prosecutor in the courtroom objected to that and said on the record we object, we think it’s a prison case and you should send him to prison. And the judge decided… that Mr. Haro deserved an extra break and gave him probation and basically 180 days of work release which ends up being like community service.”

Hestrin rightly called the decision to free Haro “an outrageous error in judgment.”

But the DA’s office, when Haro was brought up on new charges since 2023, did not oppose requests by his defense attorney that he remain at large. There is blame to go around.

The horror is the Judge Dwight Moore, who enabled this tragedy by making that error, will face no penalty for having allowed this thug to kill his son. Apparently Judge Moore is surprised at the mild pushback he received for granting Haro probation. Hopefully his conscience will destroy his complacence and fellow judges will realize that their reputations are on the line, too.

Maybe next time would-be murderers will be thrown in jail, where they belong. And maybe the voters of California will elect a common-sense GOP governor, and get their state back on track.
