Is John Fetterman the only sane Democrat left? It certainly seems like it. He appears to be the only Democrat willing to take on the left-wing loons determined to reenact 2020’s “Summer of Love” – aka the riots caused by the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis. The riots, in retrospect, that caused public backlash against progressive moves to weaken law enforcement and coddle criminals and that helped reelect Donald Trump.
Democrats other than the Pennsylvania senator are once singing from the same song book, blaming President Trump for the “escalation” that led to looting and attacks on law enforcement in Los Angeles. Their scripted response to the burning of cars and injuring of cops is to nod like Muppets and mutter about “mostly peaceful protests”; some, like Maxine Waters, have gone so far as to deny what millions have watched on TV, claiming there has been no violence.

Fetterman balked, declaring on X: “I unapologetically stand for free speech, peaceful demonstrations, and immigration—but this is not that. This is anarchy and true chaos.”
He went further, writing, that his party “loses the moral high ground” when Democrats “refuse to condemn setting cars on fire, destroying buildings, and assaulting law enforcement.” To Republicans who swept to power last fall on a platform of enforcing borders and restoring law and order, this seems obvious, but progressives in control of the Democrat Party won’t have it.
This isn’t the first time Fetterman has split from his party. Just recently, after Democrat Ro Khanna from California suggested his party should join forces with Elon Musk to stop Trump’s “big, beautiful bill”, Fetterman mocked the hypocrisy saying, “The Dems, we’ve been dumping all over Musk and vandalizing Teslas or whatever, and now, suddenly, we might be more back into him.”
On Israel, too, Fetterman has veered off the reservation, shaming Democrats for not condemning the antisemitic attacks in Boulder, Colorado and for their tepid support of Israel. In an interview with Fox News Fetterman said, “For me, that moral clarity, it’s really firmly on Israel. I refuse to allow to try to turn Israel into a pariah state, and that’s right in the middle of that.”
Most relevant to the spreading chaos sowed by leftwing agitators opposing ICE, Fetterman supports the $150 billion-plus of funding in the Big Beautiful Bill that would go towards building a border wall, beefing up ICE, and the construction of new immigration detention facilities. Boy do Democrats hate that!
He calls allowing millions to enter the country illegally through Joe Biden’s open border “a mistake that our party made” and says “I absolutely support those kinds of investments to make our border secure as well.”
Needless to say, Fetterman is not Mr. Popularity in his own party or with the liberal media, which has published a number of hit pieces against the rogue Democrat. A recent piece in New York Magazine opened with: “John Fetterman says he is in good health. But staffers past and present say they no longer recognize the man they once knew.”
Get it? What seems like common sense positions to most Americans actually suggests that John Fetterman has mental issues.
President Harry S. Truman once said, “You want a friend in Washington? Get a dog.” Fetterman is learning that lesson the hard way.
