Liz Peek: What Is Ilhan Omar Hiding? MN Democrats Shield Her from Subpoena on Alleged Fraud

  |   By Liz Peek

Fox News contributor Liz Peek didn’t hold back Thursday when reacting to Minnesota Democrats blocking a state legislative committee from subpoenaing Rep. Ilhan Omar over allegations of fraud. Appearing on Fox Business’s The Bottom Line with Dagen McDowell and Brian Brenberg, Peek argued that the real story isn’t the committee’s partisan failure — it’s Omar’s persistent refusal to cooperate with any investigating body, at any level of government.

“Why doesn’t she just come in and talk to them?” Peek asked. “She won’t do it for Congress. She won’t do it for her state authorities.” Peek noted that the committee — which had rarely, if ever, issued a subpoena before — voted along party lines to block the move, but said Omar’s stonewalling speaks louder than the procedural outcome. For Peek, the pattern of refusal raises an unavoidable question: what is she hiding?

Peek catalogued a series of unresolved controversies surrounding Omar, including longstanding allegations of immigration fraud that Vice President J.D. Vance has said he believes are credible. She also pointed to the murky finances tied to Omar’s husband’s businesses — reported to be worth anywhere from $6 million to $30 million, then suddenly valued at nothing, while still generating $2.5 million in income in a single year. “I think everything about this woman is extremely suspect,” Peek said bluntly.

Peek closed with a rare expression of partisan frustration, saying she is “furious” that Republicans haven’t been able to force a definitive investigation. “Is this stuff all true? Is it not? We don’t know,” she said — but argued that someone with the means and authority needs to find out.
