Biden Campaign Struggled to Produce Usable Footage Amid Concerns Over President's Performance, New Book Reveals

Joe Biden is facing a tough post-presidential reality, struggling to carve out the lucrative and influential career typical of recent former presidents. With Democratic support dwindling and lucrative speaking offers drying up, Biden’s future looks far less promising than he or his supporters would have hoped, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Despite expectations of a well-funded foundation, prestigious presidential library, and a busy schedule of paid speeches—common privileges for predecessors like Bill Clinton and Barack Obama—Biden is instead encountering reluctance from Democratic donors and corporate sponsors, the Washington Free Beacon reports. Companies remain hesitant to associate with Biden, leaving Biden with significantly fewer opportunities to monetize his presidency.

Reports show Biden is already scaling back on luxury travel, opting for commercial flights and Amtrak over private jets, signaling financial constraints far removed from the high-profile lifestyle expected of a former commander-in-chief. Notably, Biden “’spent his first Independence Day out of the White House at a high-end trailer park’ in Malibu, where he and former first lady Jill Biden stayed at a mobile home owned by a friend of Hunter Biden’s, the Journal reported.”

The Biden family urgently needs revenue as the financial pool that funded their political prominence has effectively shut off. Biden’s memoir deal, reportedly around $10 million, falls dramatically short when compared to the tens of millions earned by Obama and Clinton, underscoring his diminished political and market value.

Even within his own party, Biden’s support is fading. Former Vice President Kamala Harris publicly criticized his presidency and accused his team of undermining her, reflecting growing fractures within the Democrat party. Attempts by Biden to reassert influence in the party have largely fallen flat, with longtime allies and donors hesitant or outright unwilling to back him. Some insiders candidly question who would want Biden “back in the game” given his flagging popularity and controversial legacy, the Free Beacon reports.

This sobering post-presidential landscape reveals the consequences of Biden’s unpopular tenure and advanced age. It also highlights that the political capital he once held has evaporated, leaving him with a far leaner and less influential role going forward. Biden’s struggles serve as a reminder that leadership must earn respect and support, not assume it is guaranteed after leaving office.
