President Joins the Fray on Deficit Reduction; I Can’t Wait

I, for one, can hardly wait to hear how President Obama plans to cut our long-term budget deficit. Of course he will hammer home the need to raise taxes on the wealthy; that’s the only way he can divert attention from other less popular necessities, like reining in our “entitlements” programs. (By the way, don’t we need some new nomenclature here? Since when is fully-funded healthcare and retirement income an entitlement?) Of especial interest, of course, is what he will do with Medicare and Medicaid – which together will cripple the country’s growth going forward. That is not an outlandish statement; the rising cost of our nation’s healthcare is the number one issue that needs to be fixed. Doesn’t that raise serious questions about Obamacare? Wasn’t that bill meant to “bend the cost curve?” Why do Paul Ryan, the Deficit Commission and President Obama have to fix Medicare? Because the president’s program did not.
That should be an interesting campaign theme in 2012, and feed voters’ already-dismal view of Obamacare. Nothing could be better for Republicans.

This was really very nice posting in this blog. I had really liked the stuff very much.
